The heating season is a vulnerable target of domestic fires in residential buildings and apartments! The reasons are gross violations of fire safety rules during the operation of heating systems and installations, stove heating, overloading the electrical network, as well as ordinary carelessness. To prevent such an unexpected disaster, the Department of Emergency Situations of the Almaty region once again reminds of simple requirements, taking care of the fulfillment of which, you can avoid a fire.
If your abode is a private house, then before the start of the heating season it is necessary to check the operability of the stove and chimney, if necessary, repair them, be sure to clean the soot, cover up the cracks, whitewash the chimney in the attic (to immediately see the cracks that have appeared; a fire can occur as a result of exposure to a flame, flue gases and sparks through cracks and leaks in the masonry of stoves and flue ducts.).
During the heating season, soot cleaning should be repeated, preferably at least once every two months. Ashes and slag that you will be removing from the firebox must be spilled with water and removed to a safe place. Drying household items and other combustible materials over a stove is a bad idea. It is dangerous to use gasoline, kerosene and other flammable liquids to ignite the stove!
In the meantime, look at the interior of the apartment through the lens of fire safety. Upholstered furniture, cabinets, tables and chairs and similar combustible objects must be at least one - one and a half meters away from the walls of the heating stove. It is foolish to place combustible substances and materials on the pre-furnace sheet.
If you decide to "stir up the frying" and turn on an additional heater, then we recommend using only factory-made heaters. There should also be no flammable objects near them. The heater must be installed on a non-flammable base.
Fires are often triggered by the use of homemade heaters. Especially if they have a lot of power, for which the electrical network of the house is not designed. In addition, overloading the power grids with a large number of electrical appliances connected to the network often leads to a fire.
When turning on the heater, do not use extension cords, and the cord and socket must be in good condition. Another recommendation: if you are away from the room for a long time, turn off the heater. And be sure to supervise children at home to stay away from hot heaters. This can lead to injury.
It is very dangerous to operate wires and cables with damaged or lost protective properties of insulation, as well as to use damaged sockets. Wrap light bulbs and lamps with paper, cloth and other combustible materials; it is unreasonable to use electric heaters without stands made of non-combustible materials and leave electrical household appliances plugged in unattended.
Leaving the house? Turn off all electric heaters.
It is extremely risky to leave the heating stoves unattended or to entrust the supervision of them to young children! Do not leave children alone!
Remember that it is easier to prevent a fire than to extinguish it! Watch your heating stoves, operate them correctly, and the fire will bring only joy to your home.
In the event of a fire, call 101 or 112 from landline and mobile phones
