Be vigilant and careful when operating gas cylinders. Many natural gases are potential sources of danger to humans. The most dangerous are methane and liquefied gas (in cylinders), which are used in everyday life. When leaking, they cause suffocation, poisoning and, worst of all, can lead to an explosion. In order to prevent explosions of household gas, the press service of the Emergency Department of the Almaty region recalls the strict observance of the following rules for the use of gas appliances and their care:
- Entrust the installation, adjustment, inspection and repair of gas appliances and equipment to qualified specialists;
- Store the gas cylinder in a ventilated area, only in an upright position;
- Take measures to protect the cylinder and gas tube from heat and direct sunlight;
- Make sure that the taps of the new and used cylinders are closed before replacing the cylinder;
- Refrain from replacing the gas cylinder in the presence of a nearby fire, hot coals, switched on electrical appliances;
- Use a special (not random) flexible rubber hose with a marking, no more than a meter long, fixed with safety clips to connect the cylinder to the gas stove. Do not allow it to stretch or pinch;
- Store unused cylinders (refilled or empty) outdoors;
- Exclude cases of children's access to gas appliances;
- Follow the sequence of switching on gas appliances: first light a match, and then open the gas supply;
- To avoid gas leakage, make sure that boiling liquids do not flood the fire during cooking. Clean the burners regularly.
- Do not forget to CLOSE the cylinder TAP at the end of the work;
- If there is a smell of gas in the room, turn off the gas supply tap, immediately open windows and doors to ventilate the room, do not use an open fire, do not turn on electricity and electrical appliances, pull out the telephone cord and sockets;
- If the situation gets out of control, you should call firefighters and rescuers by phone - "101" or "112" ;
