Falling from a window is one of the leading causes of childhood injuries and deaths. Children are very vulnerable to an open window due to their natural curiosity.

Children aged 2 to 7 years are at risk of falling from windows, this is the age when the child himself is not yet able to understand the whole danger of playing on the windowsill.

As statistics show, in most cases, the fall of children occurs due to the abandonment of children without parental supervision and the inattentive attitude of adults nearby.

How to protect your child from falling out of the window

1. Do not leave young children alone, most falls occur when parents leave children unattended.
2. Move away from the windows all types of furniture that can serve

child with a step in order to climb onto the windowsill.

3. Don't count on mosquito nets! They are not meant to be

fall protection! On the contrary, a mosquito net contributes to tragedy, because the child feels safe behind it and leans against it like on a window. Even the highest quality nets are not able to withstand the pressure and weight of the child

4. If the child is in the room, do not open the windows and balcony door. Use overhead vents or vertical ventilation.
5. Place special clips on the windows that do not allow

open the window for a child more than a few centimeters.

6. Protect windows, install a handle with a lock or a comb-blocker.
7. If you show something to the child from the window, always firmly fix it, be prepared for sudden movements of the baby, keep your palms dry, do not hold the child by the clothes.
8. If you do not have the opportunity to install the fixing and safety equipment, you can easily simply unscrew the bolts securing the handles with a screwdriver and remove them higher, using them as needed and immediately removing them after use.
9. Teach children safety lessons. Teach your elders to look after the younger ones.
