Transport safety

According to the analysis carried out, the main reason for the ignition of motor vehicles is a short circuit, careless handling of fire, breakage or malfunction of fuel lines.

To reduce to a minimum the possibility of a fire in a car, it is necessary to keep an individual car in good technical condition, operate and maintain it in accordance with the requirements of the factory instructions, and also strictly observe fire safety rules.

Fires in passenger cars indicate that drivers are not adequately prepared not only for their fire protection, but also for fire suppression.

It is very important to detect a fire in a timely manner and immediately take measures to eliminate it. There are factors that precede a fire. This can be the smell of gasoline, burning insulation, smoke from under the hood.

As you know, in the process of mandatory technical inspection of vehicles, the condition of the vehicle is monitored, but the electrical equipment and fuel system are not checked. However, the main causes of fire in vehicles are:

1) short circuit of electrical wiring, engine electrical units;

2) careless handling of fire (heating the engine with a blowtorch, smoking, insulation of the engine compartment with a felt blanket, etc.);

3) breakage or malfunction of the fuel line.

Employees of the Emergency Department of the Almaty region recommend observing the following fire safety rules:

- keep units and mechanisms of vehicles in good condition;

- for lighting and heating the garage and heating the engines, you must not use open fire (fires, torches, blowtorches), as well as handicraft electric heating devices;

- not allowed in storage rooms for furniture, household items made of combustible materials, as well as storage of flammable and combustible liquids;

- It is strictly forbidden to smoke in the garage;

- if a fire occurs, the driver must stop the car, turn off the engine, disconnect the battery, evacuate passengers from the car and report the incident by phone: 101, 112.
