An aerial survey of the «Zhetysu Alatau» mountain range was conducted in Almaty region

In connection with the onset of a mudslide period, as well as with an increase in the temperature background, on June 15, 2021, employees of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Almaty region together with the branch of Zhetysu
Alatau Territorial Operational Management GU «Kazselezashchita» conducted an aerial survey of the «Zhetysu Alatau» mountain range (southern slope) in order to determine the state of moraine-glacial complexes and mudflow-prone riverbeds.

The flight was carried out on the Eurocopter EU-145 helicopter of JSC "Kazaviaspas" at an altitude of 3000 meters higher above sea level.

During the flyby, the channels of mudflow-prone rivers were also examined Eskelda and Panfilov districts. According to the results of the aerial survey:
there are no dangerous areas on the riverbed. The rivers flow in transit mode, at this time the snow reserve in the mountains is 70 cm, the snow pressure in the gorges is up to 1 meters. Activities for the survey of moraine-glacial complexes and riverbeds
of mudflow-prone rivers will continue until the end of the mudflow-prone period.
