In the absence of a direct negative impact on fish resources, it is possible to allow the use of these networks in pilot mode on large reservoirs for up to 2 years by making appropriate changes to legislation within 3-4 months," Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan – said Serikkali Brekeshev.
In addition, the meeting raised the issue of increasing the catch limit of walleye on Lake Balkhash. Finally, this issue may be resolved by June 2023.
The meeting also raised the issue of access to the reservoir for commercial fishing and obtaining a fishing permit by individuals living in the coastal zone.
