The Ministry of Ecology is preparing for spring floods

With the approach of floods on the territory of the republic, the Committee of Water Resources of the MEGNR  together with the RSE "Kazvodkhoz" carried out a number of preventive measures. In all regions of Kazakhstan, hydraulic structures have been prepared for the passage of flood waters, schedules of round-the-clock duty have been approved.

As the chairman of the Committee on Water Resources of the Ministry Nurlan Aldamzharov noted, at the moment, together with basin inspections, floods and the situation in the country are constantly monitored, during this period it is important to ensure the safety of settlements, especially places confirmed by flooding. Today, hydraulic structures are operating normally and are ready for the upcoming floods.

As of today, the reservoirs on the balance sheet of the Kazvodkhoz enterprise are filled by an average of 40%. It should be noted that the schedule of filling reservoirs depends on the magnitude of the flood and the time of its passage, the volume of water consumption of users and inter-basin transfers. Here, reducing the volume of reservoirs in accordance with the rules of operation is not allowed, since they meet the needs of all sectors of the economy and the environment.

It is worth noting that in case of an emergency and an unfavorable flood situation, motor vehicles, special equipment, inert materials, pumping units have been prepared for the branches.
