North Kazakhstan Region convicts win painting competition in Moscow

As part of the XXXIII International Christmas Educational Readings "80th Anniversary of the Great Victory: Memory and Spiritual Experience of Generations", an international conference dedicated to church service in places of detention was held at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
Hieromonk Serafim Maksimov, head of the diocesan Department for Prison Ministry of the Petropavlovsk and Bulayev dioceses, took part in the conference and presented the works of convicts at Institutions No. 48 and No. 50 for the Orthodox painting competition "Phenomenon", as well as the final stage of the All-Russian review of religious activities of convicts: "Not by numbers, but by humility." The convicts began preparing for the competition in November 2024.
Having studied all the submitted works, the jury of the competition awarded the 1st degree prize to the convicts of institution No.48 and No.50 of the DCES in the North Kazakhstan region. The convicts once again demonstrated their skills and professional artistic skills in painting at the international talent competition among convicts of correctional institutions.
It is worth noting that convicts serving sentences in subordinate institutions of the DCES in the North Kazakhstan region have been taking the honorable first place for several years.
