As part of the Open Day, the staff of the women's colony organized an unusual meeting for the convict

In the women's colony of Petropavlovsk, in order to maintain socially useful ties, an "Open Day" was held.

About 70 relatives arrived to 34 convicts, 14 of them were children. The main decoration of the event was an unexpected surprise prepared by the administration of the institution for one of the convicts. The convict has not seen her 8-year-old daughter for 3 years since her conviction. Since after the detention of the mother, the child had no other immediate relatives, she was placed in an orphanage.

While watching a video prepared by the administration of the orphanage, the convict was informed that the staff of the institution had brought her daughter to meet her mother.

"It was very unexpected. When I saw my daughter, I couldn't believe my eyes. I was literally speechless. Despite the fact that we call each other via payphone and video calls, nothing compares to a live meeting. I was able to hug my child again. I would like to thank the management of the Department and the institution, as well as all the employees who participated in the organization of this event. I can't imagine how much work it took to bring her to me, because the village is quite far from the city. Thank you. Today I am the happiest mom",- the convict shares her emotions.

As part of the event, guests could enjoy treats prepared by convicts, an exhibition of products made on the territory of the institution, a concert program and, of course, long-awaited sincere conversations with relatives.

For the children who came to the meeting, gifts were prepared in the form of soft toys, soap bubbles and the opportunity to pet an unusual pet of the institution-Lily the duck.

"Seeing how the convict can't hold back tears every time she talks to her daughter, we decided to prepare a small surprise for her as part of the open day. Since the daughter of the convict is being held in an orphanage, there was no opportunity to bring her to a meeting with her mother. Having worked out all the organizational aspects, the staff of the institution safely delivered the child to the event. Seeing such a family reunion after 3 years of separation, not only the guests and convicts, but also the staff of the institution could not restrain their emotions. We are ready to do whatever is necessary to maintain socially useful ties of convicts with relatives. This day, of course, became special for the convict",- says the head of the educational department Oksana Vyshar.
