Shamshi Kaldayakov is known to everyone as the "king of the waltz" and the author of the song "Menin Kazakstanym", but first of all he is a true representative of the Kazakh people, an amazing son of his country and one of the most talented composers.
For more than two years, the literary club "Ellegia" has been working at the RSI "ES-164/6 Institution", thanks to which events dedicated to historical events and the work of great people are held. On the eve of the birthday of the great composer of the twentieth century Shamshi Kaldayakov, the literary club organized a concert, the purpose of which was not only to honor the memory of Shamshi Kaldayakov, but also to educate the convicts a sense of patriotism, instill moral qualities and a desire for new knowledge. The concert began with the anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a brief biography of the people's artist and the history of the creation of the song "Menin Kazakstanym" which became the fundamental basis of the modern anthem. The participants performed such songs as "Arys zhagasynda", "Romany serenade", "Syr suluy" and many others. In
between performances, the presenters talked about the history of the creation of each song performed.
The concert program, stage design and decorations, props and costumes were fully prepared by the convicts. The main decoration of the stage was a portrait of the composer painted by the participants of the event. The convicts noted that one of the last songs of the composer "Bakyt Kushagynda" became a special inspiration during the preparation for this event.
