The convict tried to carry narcotic substances in his stomach to the colony of North Kazakhstan region

At the reception of the group of persons who arrived for further serving of their sentence at the ES-164/3 institution of the Department of Criminal Justice for the North Kazakhstan Region, a full search of convicts and personal belongings was carried out in order to detect objects and substances prohibited in the IU. As a result of the search, a package was found in the stomach of convict "N.", in which a substance of plant origin with a specific odor was found. According to the examination, the substance is "Marijuana" weighing 2.57 grams.

The narcotic substance that convict "N" tried to carry in his stomach was intended for illegal use by convicts in a medium security facility in Petropavlovsk.  

The detection of this substance became possible only when conducting a full search of the convicted person. To examine the body cavity, the convict is invited to place his feet shoulder-width apart and do a squat up to 10 times in accordance with the regulatory legal acts regulating the activities of penal institutions. During such a search, the 24-year-old convict was found to have this substance.

The investigative and operational group was called by the staff of the institution. This fact is registered in the information book of the ES-164/3 DUIS institution for the North Kazakhstan Region.

For illegal handling of narcotic drugs in relation to convict "N", the Petropavlovsk Police Department launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 296 Part 2 (Illegal manufacture, processing, acquisition, storage, transportation without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The sanctions of this article provide for criminal liability in the form of a fine of up to 160 monthly calculation indices.
