5 years were added to the convicted person in the North Kazakhstan Region for slander

For the first time in the North Kazakhstan region, a convict serving a sentence in an institution of the region has been brought to criminal responsibility for defamation against employees of the DIS in the North Kazakhstan region.

"M" was sentenced to 25 years in prison for particularly serious crimes ("Murder", "Robbery", "Creation and leadership of an organized group, criminal organization", "Extortion"), 7 of which he served.

From the moment of arrival at the EU-164/1 facility (pre-trial detention facility), the convict actively began to apply to various law enforcement agencies that the staff of the institution, led by the management, inflicted bodily injuries on him, committed other degrading acts and extorted money from him.

According to these facts, "M" wrote various statements to the Prosecutor's Office of the North Kazakhstan region, the Department of Internal Security of the DP of the North Kazakhstan Region, the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption in the North Kazakhstan Region, which were included in the ERDR. A criminal case was initiated against the employees of the institution, which was terminated for lack of corpus delicti. 

The facts stated in the statements of the convict were not confirmed, as they were refuted by recordings from CCTV cameras and video badges of employees. Moreover, according to the recordings from the video cameras, it was clear that the convict inflicted bodily injuries on himself.

The Anti-Corruption Service initiated a criminal case against convicted "M" on the grounds of a crime under Article 419 Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Knowingly false denunciation accusing a person of committing a corrupt, grave, especially grave crime"), according to which the Petropavlovsk City Court passed a sentence and imposed a sentence of 5 (five) years deprivation of liberty. On the basis of Article 60, Part 1, 4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, according to the totality of sentences, by partially attaching the part of the sentence "M" that has not been served, the punishment in the form of 23 years of imprisonment was finally determined, with serving the sentence in an institution of the penitentiary system of emergency security.

Currently, more than 1,400 convicts are being held in institutions of the North Kazakhstan region.
