In the women's colony of Petropavlovsk, on the eve of the "International Women's Day" on March 8, an event "Oh, Ana" was held.
On this day, a festive concert dedicated to female convicts took place. After the concert, while watching a video shot by their children and grandchildren, not a single woman could hold back her tears. Such special events undoubtedly excite the hearts and souls, reminding them that they are waiting at home.
- Such events remind that convicts are mothers. They are rushing to their children, grandchildren, who are waiting for them at large. Such events stimulate convicts for early release, - psychologist Gulzhan Seksembayeva.
The convicted women took the work of Chingiz Aitmatov "And the day lasts longer than a century" as the basis of the concert program. The plot of the play is based on the image of the mother "Naiman-Ana", who lost her son.The unusual idea of the play, which opened in the image of "Naiman-Ana", symbolizes the boundless love of the mother.
After the songs and dances, the women were presented with a video created by their children and grandchildren.
Lyudmila Nikolaeva was sentenced under Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 10 years. She has already served 3 years in the ES-164/6 institution, 7 years remain. When she was put in prison, her little daughter was only 1 year old. At the moment when the convict saw her son on the video, she began to cry. But, she clearly didn't expect to see him live.
- I haven't seen my mom for six months. I really missed her. When my mother got into the institution, my sister was only a year old, now she is 4 years old. I have a son, and my sister is like a daughter to me. I try not to deny her anything, because I understand that she is deprived of parental attention, - the son of the convicted Georgy Nikolaev.
- It's hard to explain what's going on inside me. I'm happy. I didn't expect this to happen. 2 children are waiting for me at liberty. I made a big mistake and got here. I will not see my daughter and grandson go to kindergarten, school, my heart hurts even more from this. I am very grateful to the management of the EU-164/6 institution for such a surprise, - convicted Lyudmila Nikolaeva.
To date, about 250 women are serving their sentences in the women's colony of Petropavlovsk.
