Olympic champion Serik Sapiyev visited convicts in the Karaganda region

Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in boxing, Olympic champion Serik Zhumangalievich Sapiyev visited the RSU “Institution No. 29” of the Correctional Institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where he met with high-security prisoners to share his life experience and answer questions of interest.
“This is the first time in the history of my life that I am visiting such a remote place. I would like to thank everyone present for the good reception and attention shown,” Serik Sapiyev began his address to the assembled audience with these words.
Sapiev shared his childhood as a boxer, how he came to the sport, who was his idol, how he studied at school and university, his first victory in the ring, what it felt like when he won the coveted Olympic gold, how he feels in the role of the head of a boxing club and much more.
As a souvenir to Olympic champion Serik Sapiev, a talented convict-artist presented a painting in which he depicted the boxer himself. It took several days to complete the painting.
