Dimash Kudaibergenov's mural was painted in the colony

The portrait of the world-famous Kazakh singer was drawn by a convict of the Karaganda region.
The mural of the Kazakh singer and composer, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Dimash Kudaibergenov appeared on the 3-meter wall in the club of Institution No. 33.
The artist of the Karaganda colony has repeatedly surprised the administration of the institution with his talent. While serving his sentence, he expressed a desire to paint a portrait of the world-famous Kazakh singer, on the day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The colony staff provided him with all the necessary materials. And now the portrait of Dimash Kudaibergenov adorns the front wall of the stage in the assembly hall of the institution. It took the convict 5 days to create another masterpiece. Near the portrait of the star, he added lines of one of his favorite songs "Kazakhstan".
"Being in prison, I began to devote more time to the development of my creative activity. When I draw, time passes unnoticed for me, I forget about my problems and worries. Drawing is not just a hobby for me, but a part of my life," the convict confessed.
"Creative leisure activities of convicts contribute not only to improving their adaptation in places of deprivation of liberty, but also to preparing them for life in freedom, and helps to find their own semantic guidelines in life," said the head of the institution, Colonel of Justice Yerlan Apakhanov.
