Convicted evader of community service arrested

Convicted to community service, registered with the probation service of the Talgar district of the DUIS in the Almaty region and the Zhetisu region, was arrested.

For petty theft, the man was sentenced by the district court to 120 hours of community service. However, the convict refused to perform community service.

The probation Department, for non-fulfillment of duties assigned by the court, sent to the court an idea to replace the punishment with arrest.

In order to prevent repeated crimes and violations of the order of serving a sentence, other convicts registered for probation also took part in the court session.

"By the decision of the Talgar District Court, the sentence was commuted to arrest for evading public works. An organized open court will certainly serve as an example," said Aidar Koszhanov, head of the Department for the Management of Probation Services.
