Although nauryz has been celebrated on the Kazakh land for centuries and is inherited from generation to generation, the Soviet government categorically banned the official celebration of this holiday in 1926, recognizing it as a "religious holiday". The bright spring holiday was celebrated in secret only in Kazakh families who firmly adhere to traditions and customs. Thus, the holiday of Nauryz, which was forgotten for 62 years on the Kazakh land, was revived in 1988. In this regard, the celebration of Nauryz among convicts of the LA 155/13 institution of the DUIs in Almaty was organized. At the festive event, the head of the institution, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice E. Zhekenov, expressed warm wishes to the convicts, congratulated them on the holiday and presented them with gifts!
