THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION MET WITH THE PRISONER ZHANBOLAT MAMAI

Today, Chairman of the public Control Commission of Almaty region and Almaty city Ardak Zhanabilova met with Zhanbolat Mamai, a detainee in a pre-trial detention center in Almaty. The meeting was also attended by a member of this commission, Oksana Ibragimova.
During the meeting, the chairman and member of the commission, who spoke with Zhanbolat Mamai, said that there were no complaints from the suspect in the investigation regarding the conditions of detention in the pre-trial detention center.
A. Zhanabilova also met with Zhanbolat Mamai's wife and lawyer, reported on the situation of the suspect during the meeting, and conducted explanatory work on the procedure for detention in a pre-trial detention center.

Opposition activist zh.Mamai was charged under several sections of Article 378 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (insulting a representative of the authorities) and was taken to a pre-trial detention center yesterday.
