HEADS OF THE PRE-TRIAL DETENTION CENTER MET WITH RELATIVES OF PRISONERS

Recently, those arrested as suspects in the "January incident" in Almaty met with their relatives.
During the January riots, about 500 suspects were taken to the pre-trial detention center in Almaty. Among them were 4 minor children, two of whom were evicted. Half of the prisoners were released with a receipt not to go anywhere. 250 people who participated in the riots during the January incident are now in custody. The investigation found that most of the prisoners were those who stole household appliances and engaged in morodism.
"The meeting with relatives of prisoners was held jointly with the prosecutor's Office of Almaty. In order to prevent false information, the Commissioner for the protection of Human Rights, the prosecutor's office, and deputies of the Mazhilis are regularly checked. Some of the prisoners met with relatives or defenders for the second time, some met for the first time. Suspects are allowed to meet twice a week," said asset Zhumadiyev, head of the LA - 155/18 institution.
