DEPUTIES VISITED THE ALMATY DETENTION CENTER
Deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Maslikhat of Almaty, lawyers and veterans arrived at the pre-trial detention center of the penitentiary system in Almaty, who got acquainted with the situation of the detainees. G. Bizhanova, V. Nabiev, N. Razzak and deputy of the Maslikhat of Almaty A. Abylkasimova, lawyers Zh. Saparkhanova and N. Zhazylbekov visited the regime buildings of the pre-trial detention center, where they got acquainted with the living conditions of the suspects.
Deputies and lawyers who arrived at the pre-trial detention center were informed by Deputy Prosecutor of Almaty N. Auganbayev and Head of the Department of the Penitentiary System in Almaty, Colonel of Justice D. Kanatbekov about the organization of the LA-155/18 institution (pre-trial detention center) and the procedure for investigating detainees during the January events.
The deputies of the Mazhilis, after checking in the pre-trial detention center, personally received and heard the appeals of 11 suspects detained in the January incident.
At the personal reception of detainees, there were no complaints about the conditions of detention in the institution, including torture.
