Today, the Department of UIs of Almaty summed up the results of the year and evaluated the results of the work done for the year. The operational meeting on the results of the year was opened by the head of the Department, Colonel of Justice Kanatbekov D. T., who noted the effectiveness of the work aimed at implementing the instructions of the head of state and the decisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"2021 was a year of changes for the Penal correction system of the country as a whole. In particular, correctional institutions subordinate to the Department of UIs of Almaty have carried out significant work within the framework of the “road map” program for the development of the Penal correction system for 2019-2023.
In subordinate institutions of the department, such important work as improving the legal and detention conditions of convicts, their employment was systematically carried out. The main thing is that the effectiveness of the work aimed at digitalization and transparency of the system is already yielding results,"Head of the Department D. Kanatbekov said in his speech.
Reporting on the results of the work for the year, Chief of Staff Lieutenant Colonel of Justice A. Esmagambetova noted that in total, 1,420 people were detained in subordinate institutions of the Department, including 1,209 in pre-trial detention centers, 211 in correctional institutions. "During the report, attention was paid to the measures taken to implement the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan" "on amnesty in connection with the thirtieth anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan "" and the work on revaccination of personnel and special contingents."
"The institutions have carried out the necessary work aimed at compliance with the established procedure for serving sentences, preventing offenses among convicted persons.
Work on closing the access roads of prohibited substances to institutions has been intensified, as a result of which 33 citizens have been brought to administrative responsibility. Among the prohibited items, alcoholic beverages and narcotic substances, money and mobile phones are often seized," said Chief of Staff A. Esmagambetova in the report.
During the year, 6,239 convicts were held at the expense of probation control in Almaty. To date, 2,859 people are registered. During the year, the Probation Service, together with local executive bodies and non-governmental organizations, provided assistance to 5,597 convicts in obtaining social and legal assistance. In the report of the Chief Specialist of the engineering and technical means and Communications Group, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Izenbayev E. E., the work carried out within the framework of a special program to strengthen the material and technical base of institutions was noted.
At the end of the operational meeting, the head of the Department instructed to continue the work carried out in the UIS institutions over the past year in the coming year and intensify a number of activities.
