Literature on various topics is in high demand among those serving sentences in institutions of the UIS Department in Almaty.

The fund of libraries in places of deprivation of Liberty is replenished every year. The National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan are among those who contribute to the enrichment of the library fund.

For example, the staff of the newspaper" Karavan " organizes an action to collect artistic and educational literary books from individuals and sell them to closed institutions. As part of this campaign, they recently brought 120 books on behalf of a resident of Almaty Alexander. Among them are complete collections of Russian and World Classics.

Indeed, among those who read a lot of books now, it is clear that convicts take the first place. For example, convicted teenagers in the LA-155/6 institution are passionate about reading books in their free time in the afternoon, while they are in school before noon. Children also learn a lot about psychology, business, and marketing.

This year, the library fund in the pre-trial detention center of the DUIs of Almaty has increased by 5,495 books. In the cells of this isolation unit there are televisions, but prisoners of Investigation read a lot of books. In particular, the books of such writers as B. Akunin, A. Dumas, E. Topol, M. Bulgakov, A. Sharier, D. Rowling do not touch hands. If you look at the magazine where prisoners order books, for example, charioteer's "Moth", Bulgakov's "Master and Margarita", Dumeau's "count Monte Cristo" are often ordered. Women often read books by Sidney Sheldon and Marinina, Ustinova and Dontsova.
