In the Aktobe pre-trial detention center, the unhindered entry of lawyers into the institution was discussed

In the KA - 168/1 pre-trial detention facility of the Department of the Penal Enforcement System in the Aktobe region, a visiting meeting of the monitoring group consisting of the management of the Department of Criminal Investigation, representatives of the regional Prosecutor's Office and the chairman of the Public Monitoring Commission of the region, as well as lawyers of the suspects and accused arrested under investigation was organized.
The monitoring group, the purpose of which was to discuss specific proposals to ensure unhindered entry of lawyers to the institution for meetings with suspects and defendants under protection, included: Deputy Head of the Department of Criminal Investigation for Aktobe region Dulat Zhumageldin, head of the institution KA-168/1 Aman Kulmukhambetov, Assistant Prosecutor for Supervision of the region Ernar Urekeshov, Chairman of the regional Public Monitoring Commission Baktygul Kanatov and lawyer of the regional Bar Association Elvira Abdulina.
At the visiting meeting, the monitoring group considered the issues of interaction of lawyers with criminal justice institutions, the importance of observing the constitutional rights of those arrested and convicted in obtaining qualified legal assistance, discussed problematic issues that may arise when organizing meetings of lawyers with citizens under protection, and adopted specific proposals aimed at solving the problem.
It should be noted that at present, special premises are provided in the KA-168/1 detention center for meetings of lawyers with citizens under protection. In addition, for detainees in the institution there is an opportunity to provide legal assistance online via Skype.
