Preparations for spring floods have already begun in Semey.

In Semey, employees of the high-security colony OV 156/14, which is located 500 meters from the Irtysh River, have already begun flood control work. In order to protect the territory of the institution from possible floods, it is necessary to carry out measures to clear snow and ice from the adjacent territories of gutters near the fence. The personnel of the OV-156/14 institution immediately carried out all the required measures on time, and are now monitoring the water level in the Irtysh River by exchanging information with the Hydrometeorological Center in the region.

"In this regard, we are conducting a full audit of storm and household sewerage, drainage systems and downpipes, as well as organizing the readiness of personnel to act in the event of mudslides, floods and floods. The convicts have prepared bags of inert materials for the construction of embankments around objects under threat of flooding," says the head of the department Olzhas Shoibakov.
Recall that the institution of OV-156/14 is one of the three colonies of the Department of UIS for East Kazakhstan region that fall into dangerous zones when floods occur.
