In East Kazakhstan Region, employees of the colony-settlement detained convicts who tried to bring a forty-degree drink with them to the colony.
– In two days, two convicted persons were detained, who, after returning to the correctional institution, tried to carry alcohol with them. In the first case, the convict stirred two bottles of cola with alcohol. In the second case, a 29-year-old woman tried to carry alcohol in a cellophane bag. During the inspection, we found that a sharp, specific smell of alcohol emanates from cola and an unknown substance in a cellophane bag. Also, the convicts were sent for examination to a narcological dispensary, where the fact of alcohol consumption by the convicts themselves was established. For violation of the established procedure for serving their sentences, measures were taken against them in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan–" said Darkhan Bigaziev, an employee of the UIS.
It should be noted that convicts who are malicious violators of the established procedure for serving a sentence can be transferred from a penal colony to a correctional colony, the type of which was previously determined by the court.
