A school for convicts will be opened in the “Black Golden Eagle”

This decision was made at a working meeting in the Department of Education to discuss the issue of further secondary education for convicts serving sentences in the Institution of Emergency Security of the Criminal Code-161/3 of the city of Zhitikar.
Following the results of the workshop, it was decided to establish a school at the institution in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for this purpose, together with the Department of Education, the necessary package of documents will be prepared to obtain the appropriate license.
Recall that the institution of the Criminal Code-161/3 is the only institution where convicted persons are held to life imprisonment. And the only evening school at the correctional colony is located only in the RSU “Institution of the Criminal Code-161/3” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kostanay)
-Obtaining primary, basic secondary, general secondary, technical and vocational education is one of the means of correcting the convict, and this in turn is the formation of law-abiding behavior, a positive attitude towards the individual, society, work, norms, rules and ethics of behavior in society, - said the deputy head of the Department of the Penitentiary System for Kostanay region Madiy Mukhtubayev.
At the moment, 14 convicts are studying at the institution, 8 of them are sentenced to life imprisonment. For the first time, in 2021, 5 convicted PLC were awarded certificates of secondary education.
