The young people met through mutual acquaintances, Nikolai was already serving a sentence under Article 188 (Theft). We started talking, saw each other on short-term dates. We decided it was time to move on to something more serious.
- They decided to take such a responsible step - to legalize their marriage quickly, - says Nikolai. But now, knowing that I have a legitimate spouse who loves and is waiting for me to be free while serving my sentence, I will try to return to her earlier.
In turn, the bride also noted that she would wait for her spouse until the end of the sentence and support him.
The registration of the marriage was carried out by a specially arrived employee of the RAGS.
On the same day, the newlyweds, as legal spouses, were granted a long date.
- Marriage has a positive effect on convicts, that is, it encourages them to be released early in order to find their place in society and take care of their family. "The main purpose of the marriage of convicts in correctional institutions is to instill in them a sense of responsibility to the family and to facilitate the process of educating convicts through the family,” said the Deputy head of educational work, Major of Justice Rakishev A.Zh.
Also, in the minimum security colony, convicts serving sentences have applied for marriage registration.
