The forum «Incubator of World Governments for Tolerance», held in Abu Dhabi, examines such issues as what states can do for tolerance, social harmony and stability, how we cope with discrimination and intolerance. Minister of Information and Social Development Darkhan Kydyrali spoke at a meeting with the participation of ministers of the sphere of several countries.
«Everyone knows that tolerance, human brotherhood and peace are of particular importance in relation to the challenges that concern the world community of the XXI century. I think we noticed the importance and significance of these values during the coronavirus outbreak that swept the whole world just yesterday. Living in the same society, limiting their behavior and entering into virtual communication, acquaintances and strangers overcame these difficulties by showing mutual understanding», - the minister said.
The Minister also spoke about the ongoing work to strengthen interethnic and interfaith harmony in Kazakhstan.
«President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who held a senior position at the United Nations, constantly pays special attention to topical issues on the agenda of peace and stability in the country. In addition, Kazakhstan has become a dialogue platform for world and traditional religious leaders. The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, uniting religious figures, was held in Astana for the seventh time», - Darkhan Kydyrali said.
The Minister also noted the special importance of mass media in spreading tolerance.
«The media does not use the language of hostility, but on the contrary, the role of the mass media is great in calling the country to unity, reconciliation and spiritual rapprochement of the population. I am sure that today's forum will also contribute to achieving this goal. I express my great gratitude to the organizers», - Darkhan Kydyrali said.
The forum «Incubator of world governments for tolerance» is being held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence of the Emirate Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan took part in it.
