Dauren Abayev met with the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan

Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev met with the Supreme Mufti - Chairman of the Religious Administration of Kazakhstan’s Muslims Nauryzbay Utpinov.

During the meeting, the Minister congratulated Nauryzbay Utpinov on his election as the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan, and raised issues related to the further development of the RAKM and its plans for the coming period.

Taking into account the address of the head of state Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan, the Minister touched upon the topic of coronavirus, which today has managed to spread in many countries and agitate the entire world community. Dauren Abayev emphasized the importance of the participation of the RAKM in countering this global problem and noted that it is necessary for the RAKM to strengthen awareness-raising among the zhamagats.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of interaction between the Ministry and the RAKM, as well as issues of strengthening inter-confessional harmony and intensifying joint work on countering religious extremism and terrorism.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for close cooperation in the implementation of state policy in the field of religion.
