Minister of Information and Social Development of RK Dauren Abayev met with the Minister of Islam of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdel Latif Al-Sheikh in Riyadh.
On February 2nd, the Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev met with the Minister of Islam of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdel Latif Al-Sheikh in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed areas of cooperation in the field of rehabilitation of citizens affected by the influence of destructive religious movements. Dauren Abaev noted that Kazakhstan greatly appreciates the efforts of Saudi Arabia to strengthen the role of Islam throughout the world, the patient, peaceful importance of the Islamic religion, and the unification of all peoples. Sheikh Abdel Latif al-Sheikh noted the depth and strength of fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Kazakhstan, emphasizing that the Kingdom appreciates relations with countries where Islam is widespread. The parties exchanged views on ways to develop bilateral cooperation in the spiritual and religious sphere, as well as current issues of the modern state of Islam.
Following the meeting, the ministers agreed to intensify cooperation by exchanging experience and information on the prevention of radical religious movements, in particular, conducting counter-propaganda work to protect the population from the influence of extremist religious ideology.
