Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will develop cooperation in the field of religion

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of cooperation on the regulation of religious activities was held with the participation of Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Nukezhanov and Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Work with Religious Entities Mubariz Gurbanli.

During the meeting, E. Nukezhanov spoke about Kazakhstan's experience in ensuring interfaith harmony, and also familiarized with the ongoing work on the prevention of religious extremism.

Mubariz Gurbanli informed about the current religious situation in Azerbaijan and the main directions of the work of the State Committee for Work with Religious Entities, and also expressed interest in Kazakhstan's experience in conducting state policy in the field of religious activity.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani side is an active participant in the congresses of leaders of world and traditional religions, the initiative of which belongs to Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their intentions to further establish close mutually beneficial relations
