The Synod of the Metropolitan district of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting.

On November 13, the administrative and spiritual and cultural center named after Cyril and Methodius of the equal apostles held a meeting of the Synod of the Metropolitan district of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Minister of religious Affairs and civil society Nurlan Yermekbayev delivered a welcoming speech at the Synod meeting.

The Minister noted that the Orthodox Church takes an active part in strengthening and promoting interreligious dialogue is a permanent participant and actively participates in forums, conferences, round tables at various levels, including at the universally recognized global dialogue platform – the Congress of leaders of world and traditional religions.

During the event, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on religious Affairs Yerkin Ongarbayev made a report.

They were given explanations of the main provisions of the draft Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan « on amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on religious activities and religious associations».
