Kazakhstan Fund «Uakyp» will take part in the restoration of an Orthodox Church

On February 10, in Almaty, in the administrative and spiritual and cultural center of the Metropolitan district of Kazakhstan named after Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov), Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan met with the President of the corporate charity fund «Uakyp» Kairat Aitbay.

The meeting was held at the initiative of the Ministry of religious Affairs and civil society of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the leadership of the «Uakyp» Fund.

The main topic of the meeting was to discuss the participation of «Uakyp» Fund in rebuilding the 7th of February the Orthodox Church in the name of Archangel Michael, located in the village of Turgen (Enbekshikazakh district, Almaty region).

Kairat Aitbay expressed regret to the Head of the Metropolitan district, the rector and the faithful of the Mikhailo-Archangel parish in the village of Turgen in connection with the tragedy that occurred – the fire that destroyed the Church.

The President of the Foundation also informed Metropolitan Alexander about the goals and objectives of the charity fund «Uakyp», created on the initiative of the Head of state N. A. Nazarbayev on July 1, 2017. According to him, the Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization whose activities are aimed at financing social projects, educational and educational events, as well as improving the effectiveness of religious figures and supporting the functioning of religious institutions. It was also noted that the Foundation is engaged in the prevention of religious radicalism, the formation of citizen’s immunity to destructive religious ideology, rehabilitation of victims of destructive religious movements, assistance to the poor, the unemployed, and the disabled.

In turn, Metropolitan Alexander stressed the relevance and relevance of the emergence of such a charitable Foundation in Kazakhstan, which would perform not only social and charitable functions, but also contribute to the consolidation of heads of state bodies, leaders of faiths, representatives of business and science in the spiritual, moral and intellectual development of the country.

The head of the Metropolitan district told Kairat Orynbayevich about the life of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, the implementation of educational and socio-charitable projects, interaction with government agencies, NGOs and leaders of traditional faiths of the country, first of all-with the Spiritual administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan.

In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of further interaction and cooperation between the Kazakhstan Metropolitan district and the «Uakyp» Fund.
