Naib-mufti: the role of the Ulema Council will be strengthened

The Religious Administration of Kazakhstan's Muslims, together with the Ministry of religious Affairs and civil society of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is working to increase the role of the Ulema Council. This was stated by the Naib-mufti of the Religious Administration of Kazakhstan's Muslims Alau Adilbayev, speaking at a meeting of the MRACS board.

In order to strengthen interaction between the state and the religious Association, a bilateral cooperation Agreement was signed on February 15, 2018 between the Ministry of religious affairs and civil society of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Religious Administration of Kazakhstan's Muslims.

The Naib-mufti noted that a number of activities are being jointly implemented under this agreement.

«First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the role of the Ulema Council. The Council conducts extensive discussions not only on religious issues, but also on making decisions on General issues of social and cultural life. The Council consists of qualified imams, well-known religious figures and theologians of the country», - the Naib - mufti said.

According to Alau Adilbayev, the Ulema Council also included the Director of the International center for cultures and religions under the Ministry of religious Affairs and civil society, Aidar Abuov. Thus, the Council attaches great importance to the development of state policy in the religious sphere.

In addition, to form the foundations of traditional Islam among the Kazakh people and improve religious and educational activities, such projects were implemented as: «Year of religions and traditions”, «Year of religious and historical year» , four strategic working directions of the DUMK, the Concept of development of religious education of the RAKM until 2020, the Concept of strategic development of the RAKM until 2020, «500 best educators-imams» , rules of conduct in mosques and I, II Republican forums of imams, etc.

Also, in order to form a school of Islamic studies, the project «Study of Islam in Kazakhstan: history, traditions, ways of development» is being prepared, the Naib-mufti said.

«Qualified specialists will be involved in the implementation of this complex project. The main goal of the project is to determine the role of the traditional Islamic concept and the role of national culture in the formation and development of the national idea in the past historical periods, the relationship of the ideological principles of religious leaders with the state and the formation of the national integrity of the traditional Muslim Kazakh society».
