Prime Minister introduced the new Minister of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan

«Today, the Head of State signed a Decree on the appointment of Nurlan Yermekbayev as assistant to the President-Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dismissing the Minister for religious Affairs and civil society»,- Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.

Bakytzhan Sagintayev expressed gratitude to Nurlan Yermekbayev for the work done.

«Since the formation of the Department for eighteen years under his leadership, built the work of the Ministry, adopted all the necessary normative-legal acts formed a professional team,»  — said the Prime Minister and wished him success Nurlan Ermekbaev in further professional activities.

By presidential decrees, Darkhan Kaletayev was appointed Minister of religious affairs and civil society of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and his powers as a Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament were terminated.

Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted the professional qualities of Darkhan Kaletayev, who in different years actively participated in the socio-cultural and public life of the country. The new leadership and staff of the Ministry have been assigned tasks to fulfill the instructions of the Head of state.

For reference: Ministry of religious Affairs and civil society was established by The presidential decree "on measures to further improve the system of public administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan" dated 13.09.2016. The issues of interaction with religious associations, ensuring the rights of citizens to freedom of religion, interaction between the state and the civil sector, as well as youth policy were transferred to the MRACS.

Darkhan Kaletayev was born in 1972 in the East Kazakhstan region.

He graduated from the East Kazakhstan state University and the National Higher School of public administration. Specialty: historian-teacher, Manager of public administration. Doctor of political science.

He started his career in 1995 as a specialist Of the Committee on languages under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Worked in the structure of the ministries of education and culture; information and public consent. Since 2002-head of the sector, Socio-political Department, Department of state control and organizational work of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2007-2008, he served as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, in 2008-2009-first Deputy Chairman of the Nur Otan PDP, in 2009-2016 - managing Director of the Samruk-Kazyna national welfare Fund.

In October 2016, by decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he was appointed a Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament. Since September 2017 – member of the Committee on foreign relations, defense and security of the Senate of the Parliament.
