Darkhan Kaletayev met with the Supreme mufti of Kazakhstan

Today, on April 9, 2018, Minister of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kaletayev held a meeting with the Chairman of the Religious Administration of Kazakhstan's Muslims, Supreme mufti Serikbay kazhy Oraz.

During the meeting, issues of interaction between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Civil Society and the Religious Administration of Kazakhstan's Muslims were discussed, as well as issues of strengthening interfaith harmony and the implementation of citizens ' rights to freedom of conscience.

Darkhan Kaletayev noted the need to continue working together to improve awareness-raising activities with the participation of imams, theologians and experts.

In particular, Minister expressed his support for the work of a special working group of religious and Oriental scholars to study the historical heritage and the relationship of traditional Islam with national culture, as well as to determine the positive role of Islam in the formation of an ideology based on secular principles of state development.

In turn, Supreme mufti Serikbay kazhy Oraz congratulated Darkhan Kaletayev on his appointment as a Minister and wished him success in his work.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for close cooperation in the implementation of state policy in the field of religion.
