Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an online meeting with experts in the field of religion of Atyrau region

Today, within the framework of the days of "Strategic Sessions" initiated by the Ministry of Information and Social Development, the chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs Yerzhan Nukezhanov held an online meeting with the leadership of the Directorate for Religious Affairs, KSU "Information and Analytical Center" and PF "Center for Assistance to Victims of Destructive Religious currents "Shapagat" of Atyrau region. The event was attended by over 50 people, incl. representatives of the clergy, theologians and religious scholars. During the meeting, issues of improving the mechanisms of rehabilitation work, law enforcement practice in the field of religious activity, as well as outreach and educational work in this area were discussed. The main directions of building state policy in the field of religion are outlined: strengthening the principles of secularism among the population, ensuring harmonious state-confessional relations and preventing the spread of radical religious ideology in society. In addition, for regional theologians, religious scholars and psychologists involved in rehabilitation work, a seminar “On certain aspects of organizing rehabilitation work with adherents of destructive religious movements” was held. The speakers were the head of the department for coordination of rehabilitation work Yerlan Esbergenov and representatives of the Public Foundation "Information-propaganda and rehabilitation center" Akniet ". During the seminar, the participants discussed issues of interaction between interested state bodies, as well as exchanged experiences and methods of working with adherents of destructive religious movements.
