The IV Republican Forum of Imams was held in Nur-Sultan

Today, December 10, 2020, the IV Republican Forum of Imams "Islam is the basis of culture and humanism", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, was held in Nur-Sultan.

The forum was attended by the State Secretary K.E. Kosherbayev, the Minister of Information and Public Development A.G. Balaeva, state and public figures, the main imams of the regions, as well as about 1000 clergymen in the online format.

The purpose of the event is the formation of a culture of religious rites and ceremonies based on national spiritual traditions among the Muslim community and the adoption of documents that introduce an effective system for the selection of clergy worthy of the status of an intellectual imam.

Welcoming speech of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev at the forum is presented in a video recording on an LED-screen. The head of state first of all congratulated the participants of the Forum on the 30th anniversary of the SAMK, noting that the IV Republican Forum of Imams will raise the organizational activities of the muftiate to a new level and give a significant impetus to spiritual initiatives. He wished the work of the Forum new successes.

State Secretary K.E. Kosherbayev read out a congratulatory message from the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the SAMK.

The congratulation of Elbasy emphasized that the annual forum has become a good tradition in society, and that the state always pays special attention to religion.

State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.E. Kosherbayev noted that the Forum of Imams, held on the eve of Independence Day, will raise the activities of the SAMK to a new level and will contribute to the regulation of religious rituals in the regions. In addition, a number of imams of the SAMK mosques, who made a significant contribution to improving the state policy in the field of religion, were awarded letters of thanks and medals on behalf of the Head of State K.K. Tokayev.

As a result of the forum, the documents “Culture of memorial events”, “Culture of visiting a cemetery”, “Intellectual imam” were adopted. It is expected that these documents will have a positive impact on the systematization of religious rituals performed by the population and on the selection of clergy.
