With the Chinese investor an agreement was reached to build a plant for the production of pulp and paper from reeds

Today in Astana, the chairman of Kazakh Invest, Saparbek Tuyakbaev, met with the head of the Chinese company Qifeng New Material, Li Hufeng.

During the meeting, the possibilities of implementing a project for the production of pulp and paper from reeds were discussed.

The investor plans to gradually invest in the project 320 million USD. In case of realization, the volume of pulp and paper production from reeds will amount to 200 thousand tons per year. It is planned that the factory will employ more than 2 thousand people. In the production, ecological technology of bleaching of paper without chlorine - with the ECF label (Elementary Chlorine Free) will be applied.

Representatives of Qifeng New Material got acquainted with investment preferences for foreign companies. An agreement was reached to visit a number of regions together with Kazakh Invest representatives to choose the location of the project.

For reference: Qifeng New Material is the world's largest producer of semi-finished decorative paper and nonwoven wallpaper. The products are exported to more than 30 countries. It has 212 national patents and 18 patents for key inventions.
