Chairman of the Ecology Committee Z. Zholdasov met with the population of Kostanay

 

Chairman of the Environmental Regulation and Control Committee Zulfukhar Zholdasov paid a working visit to Kostanay region.

At the meeting with the population of the region and non-governmental organizations, the topics of the development of ecology, geology, water resources, forestry and fisheries in the country, including the Kostanay region, were touched upon. The most urgent issue of waste disposal has not been spared today.

"In general, there are a number of environmental problems in the region, one of which is the condition of treatment facilities. Today, in the cities of Lisakovsk, Rudny, Zhitikara, Arkalyk, KOS-s are worn out and require major repairs or complete replacement. And the city of Kostanay is practically the only regional center in the country that does not have a biological treatment plant," Z. Zholdasov said at a briefing in the local CCS. Attention was also focused on the leading positions of the region in waste recycling and noted that the key aspect in solving the problem is the consciousness of the citizens themselves.

As part of the working trip, the Chairman visited the Rudnenskaya CHPP of one of the largest mining enterprises in Kazakhstan – JSC SSGPO. The company is currently actively working on the reconstruction of two boilers with the replacement of ash-collecting units.
