On November 30, 2017 in Vienna (Austria) the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mirzagaliev M. will take part in the third ministerial meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and countries outside the oil cartel.
During the meeting, it is planned to discuss the possibility of further extension of the Agreement on the reduction of oil production, which was concluded in December 2016 for the first half of 2017. Kazakhstan joined the Agreement, undertaking obligations to reduce oil production by 20,000 barrels per day.
In May 2017, during the second ministerial meeting, the Agreement was extended until March 31, 2018.
