In West Kazakhstan region, the grain collected more than last year

The West Kazakhstan region has already collected 247 thousand tons of grain. This is 5 thousand tons more than last year.

The Department of agriculture informed that this year the grain wedge amounted to 230 thousand hectares. Winter crop harvesting has been completed. 168 thousand tons of grain were collected with a yield of 21 hundredweight per hectare. The spring crop is slightly lower. Affected by weather conditions. Farmers noted that they do not experience any problems with machinery, fuel and agricultural materials.

- Harvesting of spring grain crops is now being completed. 95% of the area has already been removed. 247 thousand tons of grain were harvested. This is already 5 thousand tons more than the level of 2019. The area of oilseeds this year was 120 thousand hectares, 13% of this volume was removed. The harvest so far is 7200 tons. Vegetable harvesting continues. 54 thousand tons of vegetable products were collected from half of the area, - said Kuanyshkali Isimov, head of the Department of agriculture of the WKO.

Farmers have high hopes for new greenhouse complexes that are being built in the West Kazakhstan region. In 2020, 847 tons of vegetables and herbs were collected in greenhouses during two crop rotations. But the capacity of facilities under construction can increase these volumes several times. The main thing is that the projects are brought to mind.

- We plan that the Ural greenhouse complex will start operating by the end of the year. Its capacity is 3 thousand tons of vegetables per year. This amount will almost completely cover the needs of residents of our region. Also in 2021, another complex with an area of 12 hectares will be built, - the Department of agriculture of the WKO reported.
About 5 thousand tractors and 935 combines are involved in harvesting. 11 thousand tons of fuel were allocated at a preferential price of 167 tenge per liter.
