G. Iskaliev: "The whole world knows and honors the name of the great Abai»

In the program "Interview with the mayor" on the channel "TDK-42", the Governor of the region Gali Iskaliyev answered live questions from viewers, including about the renaming of city streets.

The idea to give the name of the great Kazakh educator and poet to one of the Central streets of the regional center was voiced for the first time in the address of the public and residents of the Urals. This proposal was unanimously supported by deputies of the regional maslikhat.

Eurasia is an abstract concept, meaning. The name of Abai and his creative heritage belong to the people and are equally valuable to everyone. Abay is known and read not only by Kazakhstanis, interest in his work is high all over the world. His imperishable words of edification are still relevant today. That is why in the year of the 175th anniversary of the great Abai, naming one of the Central streets of our city is a very correct decision, as well as a tribute to the memory and national love for the founder of Kazakh written literature, thinker and educator, poet, whose immortal works reflect the fate of the people, faith in the triumph of humanistic ideals, in the boundless possibilities of the native people, - the head of the region noted.
