Coronavirus changes traditions

Trips to visit in the upcoming March holidays in the West Kazakhstan region were advised to replace them with video greetings. This is the verdict of the specialists of the regional health service and the Department of sanitary and epidemiological control of the region. The coronavirus is gaining momentum again, the occupancy rate of infectious hospital beds has reached 50%.

- Do not relax and forget that after the New Year, the WKO returned to the " red " zone, - said the deputy director of the Department of SEC of the WKO Nurlybek Mustayev during a regular briefing at the RSC site. – There is a risk that after Nauryz Meirama, we may return there again if we do not comply with all security measures. Therefore, during the holidays, you need to limit yourself as much as possible from going to visit and not gather relatives and friends at home.

The same topic was supported by the acting head of the health Department of the WKO Arman Kalibekov. According to official data, 216 people died from coronavirus infection in the West Kazakhstan region, and the occupancy rate of four quarantine hospitals, designed for 195 beds, is now 55.4%, which can not but worry.

- On average, up to 70-80 cases of coronavirus are detected per day, that is, now there is a rise, - A. Kalibekov warned. - The occupancy rate of intensive care beds in infectious diseases hospitals is already 27.4%.

Most patients are over 60 years old. Children also get sick. 27 classes in 23 schools were closed for quarantine in the West Kazakhstan Region. According to experts, an additional reserve fund for 1,986 beds has been prepared. Of these, 1,221 are in infectious diseases hospitals, and 765 are in quarantine hospitals.

As for vaccination, its first stage (in the amount of 1000 doses only for health workers) has been completed. On March 4, WKO again received the vaccine "Gam-COVID-Vak" (Sputnik V) in the amount of 6,500 doses. Vaccination continues on schedule. As you know, first of all, medical workers who are not included in the first stage of vaccination, who have a high risk of infection with coronavirus infection, as well as teachers and law enforcement officers should receive the vaccine. To date, 560 people have been vaccinated. 102 of them are teachers, 7 are employees of law enforcement agencies.

By the way, due to the latest changes, people over 65 are now allowed to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

- In the future, we will carry out vaccination for all those who want to be vaccinated in West Kazakhstan, who will be able to get vaccinated by contacting the polyclinic at their place of residence, - said A. Kalibekov. – This also applies to citizens over 65 years of age.
