Governor of the West Kazakhstan Region Gali Iskaliyev discussed the development of bilateral cooperation with the Governor of the Samara region Dmitry Azarov

The West Kazakhstan and Samara regions have historically developed friendly, good-neighborly relations in various fields. According to Gali Iskaliyev, about 16 thousand Kazakhs live in the Samara region, but there are much more friends of West Kazakhstan residents and business partners.

In 2018, the Akimat of the West Kazakhstan Region and the Government of the Samara Region signed an agreement on cross-border cooperation. Within the framework of this agreement, there is an active interaction of trade and economic activities, breeding and seed production, health care, children's cultural and educational recreation, additional education, and sports events.

During the online meeting, the governor of the region expressed confidence in the great potential of cooperation in business.

At present, the volume of transformers, cheeses, wheat flour and pasta products predominates among the exported goods of the West Kazakhstan region.

From the Samara region, WKO receives products, the production of which could be established in our region. Of the goods imported into the WKO, the volume of construction materials made of gypsum, waterproofing materials, dairy products, food additives, sanitary ware products, mufflers for cars and others prevails.

– There are benefits for production facilities that will be localized on the territory of Kazakhstan. This is an exemption from certain customs duties, a state in-kind grant. For projects of at least 2 billion rubles. The MCI is provided with tax benefits from 8 to 10 years, " the governor of the region noted.

Along with the list of potential projects, the head of the region gave the Samara side his WhatsApp number, where entrepreneurs interested in starting a business in the WKO will be able to contact directly.

At the same time, the companies of our region also show interest in working with the Samara region.

As part of the expansion of production of "Steklo-Service" LLP, it is planned to place a transport and logistics center in the Samara region with the further organization of the production site.

The governor of the region also voiced the idea of joint implementation of the project for the construction of a transport and logistics center.

– From 800 to 1000 cars pass through the post on the Samara-Shymkent highway on the border with the Samara region every day. In the future, the work can grow into a large logistics hub on the example of "Khorgos" near the border with China. Our companies express their interest in leaving cargo on the borders with the Samara region and taking European and Russian cargo without entering the territory of Russia and Europe. If transport companies are interested in participating in the logistics hub, we can provide production sites and the necessary infrastructure, " the governor of the region said.

Also, in order to establish trade and economic relations and develop business circles, Samara companies are offered to rent production facilities on the basis of the company at a price of 400-500 rubles per month for 1 sq. m. in Uralsk.

The Governor of the West Kazakhstan Region and the Governor of the Samara region discussed possible assistance measures to lift the ban of the Russian side on the import of road bitumen to Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the parties also touched upon the issue of information exchange. As Gali Iskaliyev noted, during the pandemic, there was a problem of presenting fake results of PCR tests at the border of the regions, indicating mainly Samara medical institutions. In order to minimize the risks of spreading the virus, the governor of the region proposed to exchange direct contacts of responsible persons for quickly finding out the authenticity of certificates.

The Governor of the Samara region Dmitry Azarov noted the great importance of cooperation between the regions and supported the initiatives.
