A meeting of the operational headquarters for locust control was held in the regional akimat under the chairmanship of the first Deputy akim of the West Kazakhstan region Mukhtar Mankeev. During the meeting, the results of the measures taken this year were summed up and a plan for organizing phytosanitary measures against pests for 2021 was adopted.
As Mukhtar Mankeyev noted, this year at the expense of the Republican budget against the Italian Prus, more than 73 thousand hectares were planned to be processed. despite all the difficulties of the current year, more than 67 thousand hectares of land were processed, so the plan was fulfilled by 91.2%. At the same time, at the expense of the local budget, work was carried out to counteract non-resident locusts on an area of 56.6 thousand hectares.
– It is no secret that at the beginning of the year we faced certain risks that still exist on the territory of the border regions of the Russian Federation. At the same time, we have taken all necessary measures to protect against harmful locusts. This is a joint work of both territorial bodies, the regional Department of agriculture, and district akimats. Nevertheless, we should not be satisfied with the good work done, but already work today to prevent the appearance of pests, – said M. Mankeev.
According to the head of West Kazakhstan regional territorial inspection of state inspection COMMITTEE in AIC MA RK Laurel Khairetdinova, to counter the Italian locust was held on the territory of 6 districts of WKO. Most of the work fell on Karatobinsky (28 thousand ha), Syrymsky (27 thousand ha) and Chingirlau districts (10 thousand ha).
– As for herd locusts, due to timely chemical treatment in the current year, compared to the previous year, the volume of work done decreased by 87.7 thousand hectares, which is undoubtedly a good indicator, – said L. Khayretdinov.
In addition, as a result of joint research work with specialists of the Aktobe and Atyrau regions and regions of the border regions of the Russian Federation, a cooperation agreement was signed.
As the Deputy head of the regional Department of agriculture Denis Umashev noted, a special Commission was created for operational work on pest control in each district.
– This year we have achieved good results. In the next year, the risk of locust spread remains in the southern border areas of the WKO. The key to preventing the appearance of pests on the territory of the region is the operational interaction of state agencies and neighboring regions, informing about the current situation. It together we will achieve all the desired results and protect the land from locusts – said Mankeyev.
As a result of the meeting, specific instructions were given to prevent the spread of locust pests on the territory of the West Kazakhstan region in 2021.
