SPRING TO THE ROAD

This winter, every day there is a surprise of the weather. That frost and wind, then it drips from the roof and a puddle underfoot. Thick fog. And between them - albeit infrequently, it snows.

For the same reason, there is ice on the roads, and snow bumps on the sidewalks, which makes it difficult to move. During this most traumatic period, public utilities go out on the road every day - either fighting snow or ice.

Despite this, residents of the regional center are outraged and file complaints against the local rural akimat. They can be understood too, the sidewalks with icy snowballs are more like an obstacle course than footpaths.

We asked our questions about this to the akim of the Fedorovsky rural district Aset Aubakirov. He told how and who cleans the intra-village roads, whether there are enough workers, and why the sidewalks are "with obstacles."

- There are 16 km of sidewalks in our village. This distance is the same as from the village of Fedorovka to the village of Dolinnoye. Cleaning of sidewalks as well as cleaning of roads has been transferred to the competitive environment. Due to the lack of a contractor for this type of service, you have to do this work yourself and manually. Yes, there are complaints from the population, we are trying to respond in a timely manner. Five people who are not made of metal clean the sidewalks every day for a salary of 42,000 tenge. The ice crust, growths are also broken by hand. We do not have small tractors for cleaning sidewalks, as in the regional center. Moreover, the rural akimat has no right to keep special equipment on its balance sheet. At the moment, 1 unit of snow cleaning equipment is working in the district center, says Aset Sabitovich.

And one more thing, for the information of Terektins: it is the responsibility of the rural akimat to clean the streets, sidewalks and driveways from snow. But not private yards. There are cases when residents remove snow from private yards, dump it on the driveway, and then call to take it out, as it interferes with the passage of vehicles.

- We are cleaning roads not only in the regional center, we have four villages in the district. In Fedorovka, it does not drift like that, and small villages are literally covered with snow. Now we have begun not only to pack and clean the snow, but if possible we are already exporting it. This is done to prevent melt water from flooding our streets and roads in spring. And, taking this opportunity, I would like to address my fellow villagers: spring is not far off. In advance, clean the roofs of the house and structure, the paths of the passage of melt water from snow. Do not store snow where water should pass.
