The monetization of the guaranteed social package provided to children from families receiving targeted social assistance, implemented from January 1, 2023, will allow parents to independently choose the necessary goods depending on the individual needs of children.
As you know, since January 2020, children aged 1 to 6 years from families who are recipients of targeted social assistance (hereinafter referred to as TSA) have been provided with a guaranteed social package (hereinafter referred to as GSP) in the form of sets of food and household chemicals as an additional measure of social support to the designated TSA.
In 2022, the average size of the TSA for each family member receiving social assistance, including for each child, was 6,650 tenge. The cost of the additionally provided food and household kit for children from low-income families was set at 5,174 tenge.
At the same time, from the recipients of the guaranteed social package, proposals were periodically received to transfer the GSP from a natural form to a monetary format.
Taking into account the wishes of the recipients of the guaranteed social package, it was decided to monetize the GSP from 2023. Monetization was carried out by establishing an additional cash payment for each child from among the recipients of the TSA in the amount of 1.5 monthly calculation index on a monthly basis. This will allow parents to independently choose the necessary goods depending on the individual needs of children.
