Industry Development Information at the end of January - April 2021

According to the results of January-April 2021, industrial products were produced in the amount of 837.6 billion tenge, including in the mining and processing industries - 752.6 and 57.2 billion tenge, respectively.

The index of the physical volume of industrial production amounted to 93.1%. The decrease in production volumes in the mining industry is due to a decrease in the volumes of hydrocarbon production on the basis of KPO b.v. due to the planned shutdown of GP2 (maintenance) from 19 to 21 April this year. and Zhaikmunai LLP due to the predominance of water in production wells.

The main share of the industry is in the mining industry (89.8%). In terms of districts, the main share falls on Burlinsky district - 88.1%, Uralsk city - 7.3% and Baiterek district - 4.2%.

In order to ensure the growth of industrial production in the region, a number of large projects are being implemented, including those aimed at increasing the volume of hydrocarbon production on the basis of KPO b.v., which allow to optimize and increase the efficiency of oil production, while maintaining and improving indicators of ensuring industrial safety and maximum reduction of environmental impact.

This year, a project was introduced to remove production restrictions on gas at the KPC (SPOG).

This project is one of the largest investment projects with a budget of over 1 billion US dollars, which will allow processing additional volumes of raw gas up to 4 billion cubic meters per year, and will definitely contribute to the growth of industrial production and the receipt of additional revenues to the budget of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The project created more than 1000 new jobs for residents of WKO, including 420 jobs for residents of the city of Aksai, at the time of the peak, up to 2500 temporary jobs were created.

It should be noted that the implementation of the project will also contribute to an increase in production volumes in other related industries, such as mechanical engineering, construction industry, the industry of finished metal products, as well as an increase in investment.

In the manufacturing industry in January-April 2021, products were produced in the amount of 57.2 billion tenge, which is 12.1% less than the corresponding period of 2020 due to a decrease in production in metallurgy by 77.5%, food production - by 7.6%, production of petroleum products - by 56.2%.

The largest decrease is observed:

- in the Burlinsky region due to a reduction in the output of oil products on the basis of one of the large enterprises of JSC "Condensate" by 81% due to the lack of raw materials for processing.

- in Uralsk, due to a decrease in demand for products from oil companies of the Russian Federation, the volume of production and export of tubing on the basis of KazTrubprom LLP decreased (by 78%) by subsidiaries of KazMunayGas JSC, these are enterprises such as Gazpromneft, Rostneft, Lukoil; a decrease in the production of canned meat on the basis of "Kubley" LLP (by 29.8%) due to a decrease in demand for products.

- At the same time, there is an increase in production volumes in the chemical industry - by 4.5 times, textiles - by 1.5 times, clothing - by 1.5 times, in the furniture production industry - by 9.6%, mechanical engineering - by 6%, the construction industry - by 33.6%, the production of finished metal products, except for machinery and equipment - by 14.9%, the production of rubber and plastic products by 35.7%.

The main volume falls on the following industries: food - 42.7%, mechanical engineering - 22.8%, metallurgy and production of finished metal products - 8.9%, oil refining - 6.8%, construction industry - 7.4%.

In order to ensure production growth in 2021, a number of measures were taken that will contribute to an increase in production in the manufacturing industry.

Contracts for state defense order have been concluded with enterprises of the defense industry. Currently, 20 contracts have been signed for a total of 7.2 billion tenge.

Samruk Kazyna Contract LLP concluded 11 contracts with machine-building companies of WKO this year, including:

- with JSC "ZKMK" 3 contracts for the supply of tanks, electric dehydrators, buffer tanks and PNE;

- with PK "Ural Foundry and Mechanical Plant" 8 contracts for the supply of spare parts, pumping units, pumps of the CNS brand.

In order to increase labor productivity and promote exports, work is underway to clarify the main support mechanisms under state programs, including reimbursement of part of the costs of exporters through JSC "Center for Trade Policy Development" QazTrade "and on support measures aimed at increasing labor productivity through JSC" Kazakhstan center of industry and export "QazIndustry".

In addition, since the beginning of the year, 2 meetings have been held to clarify the main mechanisms for supporting exporters. So, in order to assist in the promotion of exports, including non-commodity goods, the delegation of the "Center for the Development of Trade Policy" QazTrade JSC and "ESC" JSC KazakhEx
