Governor of the region Gali Iskaliyev met online with an investor from Turkey, Mr. Yusuf Akgun-the founder and head of the Akgun group of companies. The main issue of the negotiations was the involvement of the Turkish group of companies as the manager of the WKO industrial zone.
As you know, the construction of an industrial zone on 281 hectares is underway in the West Kazakhstan region. The first investor-a joint venture with the Netherlands-has already started the construction of modern industrial greenhouses, on an area of 56 hectares. Meanwhile, the region plans to attract an investor to manage the territory of the 225-hectare area.
The essence of cooperation will consist in the fact that between the akimat and the management company there is an agreement under which the management company will independently dispose of the allocated territory of the industrial zone. It will be engaged in attracting investors to the industrial zone and create all the necessary internal infrastructure according to the conditions of each invited investor. At the same time, the management company charges a fee for renting the territory.
– First of all, we need investors to provide services to the oil and gas sector. Meanwhile, the favorable geographical location of the region, namely the neighborhood with 5 regions of the Russian Federation and 2 regions of Kazakhstan, can attract investors in the implementation of other types of business, – said the head of the region.
Mr. Yusuf Akgyun is the founder of 2 industrial zones in Istanbul with an area of 750 hectares, on the territory of which there are 37 cooperatives, various firms and workshops. The company employs about 350 thousand employees. The Company's turnover for the last year amounted to 5 billion US dollars. The investor has been managing industrial zones for about 40 years. In total, there are 350 of them in Turkey and, according to him, some of the best belong to the Akgun group of companies.
